We are currently looking for a candidate to fill the vacancy of Junior Programme Officer- Legal Fellows Programme. Legal knowledge and understanding is essential. The role has a regional focus, and knowledge of the socio-political contexts within each country and of the region, is essential.
The PO will work as part of the Programmes team, and will be responsible for coordinating and strengthening the Legal Fellows Programme. This includes strengthening and enhancing the expansion of the Legal Fellows Programme, working with identified experts and advisors, identifying issues from the work of the Legal Fellows as areas of research and analysis, and communicating regularly with the legal fellows.
The candidate should have a degree in Law (a secondary degree /diploma in human rights law would be an asset); experience in legal research; experience in litigation; a strong feminist perspective, excellent communication skills in English and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, with an international team. Experience working with women's groups and donor organisations, statistics management and knowledge of a second regional language (Bangla, Hindi, Nepali, Sinhala, Tamil and Urdu) will be an added advantage. The PO must be based out of India.
